Edward Frenkel became a leading voice in the Langlands program, a vast network of conjectures linking number theory, geometry, representation theory and mathematical physics. Barred from Moscow State University amid Soviet discrimination, he studied independently, reached Harvard and earned his doctorate in 1991 before joining UC Berkeley. This documentary follows his research on affine algebras, geometric Langlands duality and quantum field theory, as well as his bestselling effort to show the public why mathematics.
